An objective is a defined developmental action or task designed to help you build capability in a specific behavior area.
Objectives may be:
- Standalone goals created by you (for example, a practice activity or plan)
- System-assigned tasks as part of a structured learning pathway
Each objective includes a due date, status (such as Outstanding or Completed), and may include an approval requirement depending on the type.
Objectives Overview
This section shows all objectives assigned to you or created by you.
From here, you can:
- Filter by status (Outstanding or Completed)
- View shared objectives (objectives marked as exemplary for learning purposes)
- Identify pathway-linked objectives (these appear with a dash and are part of a learning pathway)
- Switch between List View and Calendar View
- View key details such as assigned date, due date, completion date, and source (system or user-created)
- Create a new personal objective
When creating a new objective, your profile is automatically selected.
Example:
Create an objective titled “Handle this objection” and link it to a relevant behavior. This is often used for practice-based development such as objection handling or scenario preparation.
Completing an Objective
You can access an objective from multiple locations, including the Objectives screen, email notifications, or the home screen.
To complete an objective, select the objective title.
Each objective includes a standardized header with key details:
- Due Date
- Assigned Date
- Objective Type (Standard, Video Practice, Metric-Based, or Learning)
- Assigned by
- Status (Outstanding, Completed)
Note: Users with admin permissions will have objectives automatically approved, bypassing the approval workflow.
Standard Objectives
A Standard Objective is a free-text task that outlines a development activity or expectation.
These objectives may include instructions and optional supporting resources.
To complete a standard objective:

- Add any required notes or attachments
- Select Save & Submit
You can also select Save Draft to return and complete it later.
Example:

Video Practice Objectives
A Video Practice Objective requires you to record or upload a video as part of skills practice.
This may include:
- Webcam recording
- Screen recording
- Uploading an existing video file
These objectives are often used for practice activities such as presentations, demos, or objection handling.
When completing a video practice objective, you can choose how to proceed:
- Use Webcam – Records you using your camera
- Screen Recording – Records your screen or selected application
- Upload File – Upload an existing video
You can re-record before submitting if needed.
Supported File Types
.m4a, .m4v, .mov, .mp3, .mp4, .ogg, .webm, .wmv
Maximum File Size
500 MB
Additional Notes
Not all .mov files are the same, and some may fail to upload or play correctly. This is typically due to either file size exceeding the limit or the video being encoded with an unsupported format.
For best compatibility, we recommend uploading files in .mp4 format.
To complete the objective:
- Follow the instructions provided
- Add any required notes or attachments
- Select Save & Submit
You can also select Save Draft to return later.
Metric-Based Objectives
A Metric-Based Objective is tied to a measurable performance target.
Example: “Book 10 meetings this month.”
These objectives include:
- A defined metric (often from CRM or integrated systems)
- A target value
- A timeframe
Performance is tracked automatically (through its integrations) and displayed in a visual chart.
You will also see how the target is calculated, including time-based conditions (for example, weekly or monthly tracking requirements).
To complete the objective:
- Review progress against the target
- Add any required notes or attachments
- Select Save & Submit
Important: All metric-based objectives require manager approval.
Learning-Based Objectives
A Learning-Based Objective assigns one or more courses or learning modules.
You can launch the learning directly from the objective by selecting Start.
Depending on configuration:
- The objective may automatically complete once all learning is finished
- Or you may need to manually submit the objective after completion
To complete the objective:
- Follow the learning instructions
- Add any required notes or attachments
- Select Save & Submit (if required)
AI Objectives
AI Objectives are short, scenario-based exercises designed to reinforce and strengthen foundational sales behaviors.
Powered by AI and seamlessly integrated with Prism, these exercises require no additional setup or configuration.
Each objective presents a video-based scenario and provides personalized, contextual feedback to help learners build confidence, improve performance, and develop behavior mastery over time.
AI Objectives are unlocked only after the associated behavior course has been completed. Until the required course is finished, the corresponding objectives will not be available.
