The Objectives feature in ASPS Insights allows managers to assign focused, timebound tasks that align with seller development goals and business priorities. This article outlines how to create and assign objectives using the Track > Objectives section and from the Performance Dashboard.
Why Use Objectives?
Objectives give sellers clarity around expectations and support skill development with trackable progress. Managers can align each objective with a specific capability, helping drive individual and team growth.
Creating and Assigning Objectives
To create a new objective, navigate to Track > Objectives and click Add New Objective.
Step 1: Select Recipients
You can assign objectives to individuals or your full downline. Use filters to narrow your list by:
- Job title
- Manager
- Role
- Department
- Location
- Business unit
- Learning Completion Status
- Behavior Score
Step 2: Choose the Objective Type
Select the type of objective that best matches the developmental focus:
- Standard Objective: A free-text task or prompt
- Video Practice Objective: Requires the seller to upload or record a skills demonstration
- Metric-Based Objective: Tied to a numeric goal (e.g., “Book 10 meetings”)
- Learning-Based Objective: Assigns a course or learning module for completion
Step 3: Customize the Objective
Personalize the objective to align with the seller’s development needs:
- Tag it to a specific behavior to enable tracking
- Set a due date
- Include detailed instructions, links, or resources
-
Decide if manager approval or feedback is required before completion
What to Keep in Mind
Creating clear, actionable objectives ensures sellers stay aligned with development goals and focused on high-impact behaviors. By tracking progress and outcomes, managers gain visibility into what’s working and where additional support is needed.
